 ARE SMARTER PEOPLE HEALTHIER?

 There are two ways to be smarter. Through formal education and street smart, informal education. Formal education is when you go to school and learn. 

 Grade school, high school, college ( BA / BS, MA, PhD ) are the recognized degrees you can earn. Street smarts, on the other hand, are learned “on the streets.”

 Which is better? Actually, a combination of both is the best possible choice. When a person knows the formal explanation of something and knows how to apply it to life ( the streets ), he or she can be the smartest.

 The combination of these two types of education can allow you to get a job, which can lead to an occupation or profession, or your own business. 

 How much is enough education? My opinion, is that you must educate yourself daily, everyday.

 Why?

 Because there are others out there who can be doing the same. These are the people that you need to compete with, people that may be applying for the same job, who want to become part of the same occupation. 

 These are people that may be specializing in the same area of coaching that you are… let’s say a “life coach.”

 When you decide to become a life coach and there are 4,359 others in the world that want to be a life coach, they are your competition. 

 So, what sets you apart from all the other 4,359 life coaches, which can make you more successful? 

 You must offer benefits to your potential clients that they cannot get from your other 4,359 competitors.

 Now, wait a minute! The original question was “Are Smarter People Healthier?”

 First we must understand that the person that has only formal education is at a disadvantage. And, the person that only has a street smart education is also at a disadvantage. 

 The smarter person, who has a command of formal education and street smarts, can certainly be healthier, and usually is...

 Why?

 The combination of the two types of education gives us the distinct advantage of being able to figure out things, how things really work and it gives us a certain amount of protection against making the wrong choices.

 The thing that makes life peaceful; the thing that gives us a continuous passion for life and prosperity consciousness is simply being able to make the right choices, more times than our competitors.

 When we make the right choices we gain the upper hand. We win more often. We make more money.  Are we healthier because of this?

 YES!

 The reason we are healthier when we gather formal and street smart education is because we learn how to navigate our world. 

 We are able to get past barriers that may stop our competitors. We are able to recognize what’s really happening in the world and we make adjustments accordingly.

 Let’s look at a simple thing like drinking water. It has been suggested by someone that we drink 8 – 8oz glasses of water per day.

 Some people say we need to drink less, some people say we need to drink more. 

 Who is right?

 Because of my 8 years of full time research
( 1991 to 1999 ) I have found that the major reason for drinking water is to hydrate the body and to perform the necessary functions of the body for optimum health.

 How much water is enough? 

 What we want to figure out is what is the best answer to the process we must participate in, that of drinking water daily.

 I know that the first 20% of the water we drink goes directly to the brain. 

 So when we don’t drink enough water to hydrate the brain, we can be sure that the rest of our organs are dehydrating.

 This is not good. In fact, take the time, on a new day, let’s say tomorrow to keep track of the water you actually drink, per day. You’ll be amazed at what you drink on a regular basis.

 Now, don’t fudge and drink more water. Just casually keep track of the amount of water that you drink each and every day for about a week.

 You’ll find that when you are not concentrating on drinking a certain amount of water each day that the volume of water you drink may be very low.

 Here is what I found. 

 We all need to drink a minimum amount of water or more, daily, purposefully. Actually we need to drink water until all of our organs are hydrated. 

 Since the first 20% of the water we drink goes to our brain, we need to drink another 80% of water to hydrate the rest of our organs.

 What happens when an organ is not hydrated? 

 It dries up. It shrivels up and gets smaller. It cannot possibly perform its function and it doesn’t deliver the function it was designed to perform.

 Thus, we suffer! Maybe not immediately, yet, the longer we keep from drinking the right amount of water the more the organ suffers and eventually we suffer.

 So, how do you gauge the right amount of water to drink each day? 

 I have found that we need to make sure that all our organs are hydrated and the way this is done is to watch the color of your urine. 

 In fact, we must drink enough water each day to render our urine “clear.”

 There really is no set amount of water to drink because some days we have a bad day, we get aggravated, we get mad and any of these conditions require more water because we use it faster when we are in this type of situation.

 On the other hand, when we have a great day, everything is going right, we accomplish what we want and are smiling all day long, we actually require less water that on any bad day.

 So, we must set our amount to be a minimum per day depending on how we feel, what we are doing and how our day is going, and, of course, the color of our urine.

 I have 128oz of water ( 4 - 32oz containers ) on my kitchen counter to be used as needed, everyday. I refresh this water everyday.

 I drink "alkaline water" which is tap water separated by a filtration system. The system gives me acid water and alkaline water. 

 The alkaline water is used to drink ( this helps to dissolve plaque in our arteries ) and the acid water is used to wash dishes, etc.

 Simply watch your urine. When your urine turns clear you can stop drinking water. The next time you check and it is slightly yellow, start drinking more water.

 An age old question! Some people believe that when they drink soda, coffee, tea, or some other form of liquid, other than water, that they are satisfying their need for water.

 This is not completely true, even though there is water in each of these drinks. 

 The problem is that there is also calories in each of these drinks which requires it to be digested before the water can be separated from the other ingredients in order to use it.

 Water has no calories, so it doesn’t have to travel through the digestive system and goes directly to perform its function.

 By the way, many people drink cold water, like from the refrigerator or cooler. 

 You need to drink room temperature water because the body must take time to bring the cold temperature down to where it can be used before it can be effective.

 As you can see there are lots of things that we need to know about water. For alkaline water you can buy "spring water" from your local supermarket. Spring water is the closest to alkaline water without the filtration system.
